What It Treats

The midface — comprising the cheeks, under-eyes, and nasolabial (nose-to-mouth) folds — is often where the earliest signs of ageing appear. Over time, skin, fat, and muscles lose their firmness and volume, causing cheeks to flatten, eyes to look tired, and folds to deepen.

A non-surgical midface lift restores lost volume and redefines contours using premium hyaluronic acid fillers, improving:

  • Sagging cheeks and facial hollowing
  • Tear troughs, eye bags, and dark circles
  • Deep nasolabial folds
  • Overall symmetry and light reflection on the cheekbones

With advanced MD Codes™ techniques, this treatment rejuvenates the midface using targeted points for natural, harmonious lift — without scars or surgery.

At Harley Street MD, we use only Juvéderm® Vycross fillers (Voluma, Volift, and Volbella) chosen for their specific lifting capacity and softness. Each treatment is bespoke, combining multiple filler types for optimal contour and smooth integration. Our specialists apply the MD Codes™ system — a structured, anatomical approach to restoring the natural ogee curve and midface projection. The result is a refreshed, lifted, and balanced look that enhances your natural beauty without overfilling. We respect anatomy, proportion, and subtlety — never the “overdone” look.

More Information

Does it hurt?

Minor discomfort is possible, but numbing and lidocaine in the filler reduce pain significantly.

Who should avoid dermal fillers?

Pregnant or breastfeeding womenThose with hypersensitivity to HAThose with active infections or recent skin treatments

Are dermal fillers permanent?

No. All legally approved fillers in the UK are biodegradable and will break down over time. Permanent fillers are banned due to safety risks.

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are pharmaceutical-grade gel injectables designed to restore volume, provide lift, smooth out wrinkles and enhance facial contours. Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers are the safest and most popular. They are biodegradable, reversible, and hydrate the skin by retaining moisture. They are non-animal derived and integrate seamlessly with the skin.

What is a midface lift with dermal fillers?

It’s a non-surgical rejuvenation procedure that restores cheek volume, lifts sagging tissue, and smooths under-eye hollows and smile lines using hyaluronic acid fillers. It recreates youthful definition and a natural ogee curve.

What products are used?

We combine:

  • Voluma: for deep cheek lift
  • Volift: for smile lines and folds
  • Volbella: for delicate under-eye correction
All are from Juvéderm® Vycross — renowned for smooth integration and longevity.
Are dermal fillers safe?

HA fillers are safe when administered by experienced medical professionals. They are made in sterile lab environments, are vegan-friendly, and can be dissolved easily with hyaluronidase in case of overfilling or complications. This makes them a safer option compared to non-HA fillers.

What are MD Codes™?

A set of precise injection points developed to achieve consistent, natural results. For midface lift, we treat up to 11 MD Codes points (cheeks, eyes, folds) to restore contour and proportion systematically.

How is the treatment performed?
  • Topical anaesthetic applied for comfort
  • Marking and symmetry assessment
  • Injections using fine needle or cannula in a sterile environment
  • Gentle massage for even blending
The procedure takes around 60 minutes in total.

    How should I prepare?
  • Avoid aspirin, NSAIDs, vitamin E, omega-3, and Ginkgo biloba for 2–7 days before
  • Skip alcohol and exercise on the day
  • Eat and hydrate beforehand
  • Delay treatment for 2 weeks after laser or peel
  • What should I expect after treatment?
  • Mild swelling or redness for 1–2 days
  • Bruising (rare) resolves in 3–5 days
  • Full integration and final results in 2 weeks
Most people return to normal activity immediately.
  • Post-treatment tips
  • Avoid touching or massaging the area
  • Sleep on your back for 2 days
  • Skip exercise and alcohol for 48 hours
  • No makeup for 4–24 hours
  • Avoid sauna, sunbathing, or heat for 2 weeks
  • Use Arnica or Bromelain for bruising if needed
  • Potential side effects

Temporary redness, swelling, or mild tenderness are normal. Serious effects (infection, vascular injury, granuloma) are rare but will be explained in full at consultation.

    How long do results last?

Typically 12–18 months. Maintenance once a year is recommended to preserve volume and slow ageing.

    Can fillers be dissolved?

Yes — HA fillers can be safely reversed with Hyalase. We offer free dissolving within 3 months (otherwise £250 per session).

    Can I fly after treatment?

Avoid flying for 7 days to minimise swelling. We advise staying local for 2 weeks in case review or correction is required.

    When will I see results?

Results are visible immediately, with full integration after 2 weeks. Skin appears smoother, hydrated, and lifted.

How many syringes will I need?

Usually 6 syringes — strategically placed across 11 MD Code points for a balanced outcome. More may be added later if needed for symmetry or enhancement.

What happens when filler wears off?

HA fillers are anti-ageing — they hydrate and support the skin. Once absorbed, your skin remains healthier and firmer than before. For best results, repeat yearly before full resorption.

    What if I need a top-up?

In rare cases, a follow-up may be needed after 4–6 weeks, especially if your masseters are particularly large. This would be a repeat full treatment.

Do I need to pay for a top-up?

If a top-up is needed (after swelling has subsided), additional filler is charged at £450 per syringe, since new product is required. The follow-up appointment itself remains free of charge.
